Limeaide
Home made limeaide, just like uncle Archie used to make it. Apparently, some people spell this limeade. I say nuts to that, but for the sake of findability, I've added it.
Makes 4 liters
Prep time: 45 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Total time: 1 hour
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups fresh squeezed lime juice (about 10 limes)
- 3.75 liters water
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 5 thin slices of lime
Instructions
- This is basically simple syrup and lime juice plus some water. its not rocket science people, but its damn tasty.
- To make the simple syrup:
- boil the 2 cups of water, then add in the 2 cups of sugar. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves, then remove from heat and set aside.
- Once cooled, stir in vanilla.
- In a 4 liter pitcher, combine the water and lime juice. Add in half the simple syrup and try it. If you're a wimp, you can add more sugar to taste, but really, quit being such a Nancy.
- Add the lime slices and refrigerate.
- There is a more advanced version of this recipe that involves tequila and strippers.
